Hey! I’m Katie. I am a late realised Autistic person with OCD and Attention Hyperactivity.
I have worked with Disabled children and coached wheelchair basketball in the charity sector since 2016.
I have just finished an MRes in Gender Studies, collecting and sharing the stories of trans and gender diverse Autistic adults with the hope to create more accessible and appropriate work on our experiences. This can be found here.
I have also published a journal article on Exploring the Experiences of Autistic Transgender and Non-Binary Adults in Seeking Gender Identity Health Care.
I am a community researcher involved in cancer services accessibility for disabled and trans folk, Autistic people’s experiences of substance use and substance use services, Autistic people’s experiences of humiliation.
I have spoken at the Houses of Parliament on cancer service inequity for Disabled and neurodivergent people.
I create content for AIM For The Rainbow and Aucademy – Education for everyone on Autistic experience . I am also available for training and consultation.
I love reading, watching sci-fi and fantasy shows and films, playing D&D, and watching wrestling. I also love spending time with my little family, they are who I strive to be better for and why I am trying to create a better world.
