Hey! I’m Katie.
I am a researcher focused on trans and autistic accessibility of health and social care; I am curious about accessibility not just as a point of inclusion but also as a fundamental location of belonging, connection and joy.
I am dedicated to raising awareness of trans and autistic experiences, identities and embodiments through training and public speaking. I have been commissioned by the NHS to lead training on accessibility and support for Autistic people within gendered areas of care, including mammography and pregnancy care.
I collaborate with academic, healthcare, and voluntary sector partners to generate meaningful social change. I have been commissioned by several voluntary sector organisations and independent research projects to improve accessibility, accuracy and effectiveness of their research practices and outputs.
I am committed to amplifying underrepresented voices and ensuring research is both impactful and accountable to the communities it seeks to serve. When I’m not working, I can be found reading, writing, playing wheelchair basketball and moaning about late-stage capitalism.

Congrats, that’s a big step! Happy to have the resource and follow along. I’m a middle-aged late diagnosed ADHDer and am fairly certain I’m Autistic as well. Mustering up the courage to do the same, and share my experience navigating the world… eventually.
